Duty Supervisor - Full Time

An opportunity has arisen to join the team at MACE Clara Filling Station as a Duty Supervisor. The purpose of the role is to support and deputise for the General Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision of all colleagues working during their shift. They will also ensure that stock merchandising, presentation, rotation and adequate levels are maintained. The Duty Supervisor will also be accountable for site security, food and general safety and the cashing up at the end of their shift.

The successful candidate will also be trained in Supervision and have responsibility for food and general safety of the store in the absence of the Store Manager

A formal education can also be provided for the successful candidate as our store Brand runs an accredited Retail Management Degree program in conjunction with Retail Ireland Skillet and Irish institutes of Further Education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that there is adequate staff cover to meet the service demands of the customer at all times and modifying the rosters as required.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service and ambiance.
  • Planning and organising work for colleagues at the beginning of their shift.
  • Monitoring compliance with food safety standards on the deli.
  • Ongoing adherence to the Stores policies and procedures.
  • Supervising stock merchandising, quantity levels, rotation and presentation standards and preparedness for stocktakes
  • Resolving any customer complaints and where this is not possible escalating them to the General Manager.
  • Managing employee performance through coaching and mentoring and where necessary escalating these to the General Manager.
  • Keeping the Shop and Forecourt appropriately clean, tidy and safe for the customers and staff alike

Job requirements

  • Must have previous retail experience.
  • Experience of implementing HACCP in a deli.
  • Ability to working on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Ability to encourage others in their work performance
  • Experience in preparing and delivering reports
  • Excellent customer service and care
  • Must have previous retail experience in a service station business & future training will be provided where needed
